The Cahir Social and Historical Society welcomed Professor John Ryan, who is a great friend of the Society to Cahir House Hotel last Thursday evening`.
He presented our third lecture of 2025.

The title of the lecture was ‘The Discovery of the Elements and the Future of Civilisation’.
Once again a great crowd attended and another informative and highly relevant talk from a knowledgeable guest speaker followed with lots of questions asked and answered on the night.

A native of Carrigataha, between Ardfinnan and Cahir, John has been one of the world's leading soil scientists for many years. An enjoyable evening was had by all.
