ChangeX, in partnership with Greencoat Renewables, has launched community funds totalling almost €280,000 in Ireland, supporting local community groups, schools, and organisations to build sustainable, thriving communities.
More than €70,000 of this funding is planned to be allocated to communities in Tipperary.
The new funding aims to support local groups living near Greencoat Renewables’ owned wind farms to start or expand projects that create a positive social or environmental impact in their community.

Applicants can choose from 9 proven ideas that have already had a positive impact in other communities across Ireland and also internationally. Alternatively, local communities can apply for funding of up to €15,000* for their own project related to one of the following themes amongst others: health and wellbeing; sports and recreation; education; energy; sustainability and environment; culture and heritage.
The funding builds on the successful partnership between ChangeX and Greencoat Renewables. Since 2021, the two organisations have launched 45 community funds across Ireland, with funding of over €800,000 awarded to 184 community projects, impacting more than 56,000 people so far.
Patrick Maguire, Head of Asset Management at Greencoat Renewables, commented on the launch: “We are delighted to support these new community funds alongside ChangeX. As long-term owners of renewable assets in Ireland, we are fully committed to supporting and building strong relationships with the local community through projects like this to build a more sustainable and prosperous society.”
