RIP: Tributes paid after sad passing of beloved Tipperary mother of four

Maureen QUIGLEY (née Kildea) 'Glantane', Ardmayle, Cashel, Tipperary

The death occurred on Sunday, March 23 at her residence in Ardmayle of Maureen Quigley (née Kildea).

She was in her 89th year and was lovingly supported by her family and carers.

Maureen was daughter of the late Larry and Mary Kildea from nearby Ballinasloe, county Roscommon.

She was predeceased by her brothers Thomas, Tommy and Sonny and sisters Irene and Evelyn.

In her younger days where she grew up she worked in Roscommon General Hospital for about 8½ years.

In 1962 on marrying Billy Quigley she and her husband moved to England and settled in Knaphill, Woking, Surrey.

Family was very important to her and she was a devoted wife and mother in raising her four children.

Above all her faith was very important to her and her family have very happy memories of her steadfast devotion.

As a lifelong member of the Pioneers she was proud to receive her golden pioneer pin and her certificate which was proudly displayed.

She enjoyed life to the full and loved music, singing and dancing. She also had a great love of animals.

In 2008 she and Billy returned back to Ireland and came to live with their son Billy who had already settled in Ardmayle since 2002.

In their new peaceful surroundings in the Lower Nodstown Road, Maureen enjoyed the companionship and care of her family.

Her passing marks 63 years for herself and husband Billy together.

On Tuesday her remains were reposing in Devitt's Funeral Home, Cashel and on the following day removed to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Boherlahan for requiem mass celebrated by Fr Michael Mullaney PP and assisted by Fr Joe Egan Ballycahill.

She is survived by her husband Billy and sons Billy and Seamus, and daughters Mary and Jacqueline.

Also by her brother Billy and sisters Rita and Francie.

Her daughters in law Michelle and Mandy, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended.

Peace to her soul.
