Despite picking up a knee knock recently, Cork's Brian Hayes has been passed fit to start in Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1A final against Tipperary at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
The St Finbarr’s forward, who’s hit 5-7 in this year’s league campaign, was a major injury doubt after limping off during Cork’s final-round win over Galway. However, the Rebels have given him the green light, and he’s one of 11 players to hold onto their starting spots from that game.
Tipp, for their part, will travel south full of confidence after a strong league run and will no doubt be looking to replicate their round-stage win over the Rebels. With Páirc Uí Chaoimh set for a sold-out crowd, Sunday promises to be another classic chapter in this fierce hurling rivalry.
