Over €40,000 in cash was seized from a property in Tipperary
Over €14,000 worth of counterfeit tobacco and €42,750 in cash was seized in Tipperary as part of various operations carried out by Revenue officers.
Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of €355,000 in various operations in Tipperary, Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
In total, over 5.4kg of herbal cannabis was seized, as well as over 5,200 of mixed tablets, with an estimated value of almost €10,300, cash to the value of €42,750, and 561 counterfeit items, with an estimated value of €178,000.
Tobacco and alcohol products with an estimated value of almost €14,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €10,400, were seized in various operations in Tipperary, the Midlands, and Wexford.
During the operation in Tipperary, Revenue officers detained cash to the value of €42,750 during the search of a property under warrant.
On Friday, Revenue officers were granted a 3 month detention order, in respect of this cash, by Judge Brian O’Shea at Clonmel District Court.
The herbal cannabis and mixed tablets, together various other illicit drugs with a value of €1,350, were discovered, with the assistance of detector dogs Ciara and Enzo, whilst Revenue officers were examining parcels at premises in Dublin and the Midlands.

The parcels originated from France, India, the Netherlands and the UK, and were destined for addresses nationwide.
10 weapons were also seized in the Midlands.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing, Revenue added.
