SEMRA said: "We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."

On May 8, SEMRA received a call from An Garda Síochána at 14:10 to assist a fallen walker on the north ridge in Coumshingaun.

This section of the Coumshingaun loop has become a frequent location for call outs in recent times due to the erosion of the track and the loose stones underfoot.

Even in good hiking boots it is very easy to lose your footing when descending the ridge.

While SEMRA members were responding and making their way to the injured walkers location, a retired team member came across the injured party and offered his assistance.

Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 117 was requested and they were able to winch the injured walker with SEMRA members operating the hi-line.
