For Heritage Week 2025, Tipperary Museum of Hidden History will deliver an ambitious and impactful programme to highlight Heritage Week and their new Heritage in Hands project.
Both aims to preserve and promote traditional Irish craft skills, ensuring these vital aspects of cultural heritage are celebrated visibly and passed on to future generations.

Mick Delahunty Square will be transformed into a Medieval Village to acknowledge Clonmel as a Medieval Walled Town. Medieval Re-enactment group Déise Medieval will demonstrate what life was like for the founding inhabitants of Clonmel and Tipperary.
Traditional craft demonstrations will help visitors see how generations before us worked and played in their daily life and watch a series of medieval fight demonstrations. The School of Irish Archaeology will allow participants a hands-on opportunity to take part in an excavation of a medieval house and hear more about the objects they uncover.

The Heritage in Hands project will start in June and run through to October 2025. The Heritage Councils Heritage Stewardship Fund, awarded the Museum €30,000 to ensure traditional crafts and skills are kept alive for new generations to come.
