Last week, volunteers from Tramore Tidy Towns visited Cashel in what turned out to be a fantastic day enjoyed by both groups.

Cashel Tidy Towns said: "Last Thursday we had the pleasure to welcome Tramore Tidy Towns to Cashel, we started the walk about with tea and scones at Bowes and Co restaurant on Main St which was enjoyed by all.

"We thank Mary and the staff for the warm walcome.

"The group moved to the gardens of The Palace Hotel were James the head gardener gave a talk on weed control as well as answering questions asked by the group. We thank Adriaan Bartels general manager of Cashel Palace Hotel for allowing the group to walk around the gardens.

"From leaving the gardens we walked to the Rock of Cashel via the Bishops Walk, and  a walk around the Rock of Cashel was enjoyed by all. We thank Elaine and the staff for making us welcome.

"We also toured the Brú Ború before visiting both the churches and Bolton Library as well as walking through Agars Lane.

"By now many legs was getting tired and we finished at O Neills Restaurant on Ladywell Street for lunch where Helen and the staff made everyone welcome with friendly service and laughter, it finished the day perfectly.

"We will shortly organise a visit to Tramore and look forward to seeing the groups work including the new sensory garden."
