Tipperary County Council has given notice of its intention to make an order to close a road in Tipperary Town for three weeks in September and October due to water main repair and replacement works.
The Council proposes to close the L-8111 at Rathkea from its junction with the R662 to its junction with the L-8112 at Knockordan Cross to the east in Tipperary Town daily from to 7pm from Monday, September 22 to Sunday, October 12.

The temporary closure is to facilitate the repair/replacement of the water main and all associated works, including reinstatement of the carriageway, footway and verges when required.
The following diversions are proposed: Eastbound traffic arriving via R-662, continues east on the R-662 to the junction of the L-8112 at The Abbey, taking the L-8112 west to re-join the L-8111 at Knockordan Cross.
Westbound traffic arriving via the L-8112 turns south on the L-8111 to Rathkea and turn west at the Junction of the L-4107 and continue toward Carnesy Cross (junction L-4109) and turn North on to L-4109, continue to Kilross, junction of L-4109 & R-662, turn East on to R662 and continue East to Mount Bruis junction of the R-662 with L-8111.
Northbound traffic arriving via the L-8111 from Rathkea, turns East on the L-8112 and continues to the junction with the R-662 at The Abbey, turning West on to the R-662 and continues West to the Eastern junction of L-8111.
Objections to the proposed temporary closures may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh not later than 12 noon on September 4 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
