Plans to develop a solar farm outside of Tipperary's largest town lodged with council

Tipperary County Council to consider plans to develop large solar farm outside Clonmel

Solar Farm

A planning application has been lodged with Tipperary County Council for a solar energy development with a total site area of 15.9 hectares.

The Applicant for the proposed development is the Glenpatrick Spring Water Company Limited – a leading manufacturer of water and soft drinks and has been operational in Clonmel for over 30 years and employs over 300 people

The proposed development will help offset the production plant’s high energy costs, strengthening its long-term viability and safeguarding local employment.

The operational lifetime of the proposed development is 35-years.

The planning application is accompanied by an Appropriate Assessment Screening Report.

The council intend to announce their decision on this application on or before October 23, 2025.
