The pensioner in his 80s who was assault in Tipperary Town on Friday night has passed away
A public representative has strongly condemned the serious assault on an elderly man in Tipperary Town, describing it as 'a shocking and unacceptable act of violence in our community'
The assault took place at St Michael’s Avenue, Tipperary Town, on Friday, 12th September 2025, at approximately 9.35pm.
A man in his 80s was taken to University Hospital Limerick and has since passed away.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the St Michael’s Avenue area between 7pm and 10pm to come forward. In particular, those with video footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make it available to Gardaí.

Cllr O’Heney is urging the community to assist Gardaí in every way possible, so that those responsible are brought to justice quickly.

He said: “There is no place in our society for this kind of behaviour. Gardaí need to come down strongly on it and throw the book at those responsible. An example must be made to show others that this type of behaviour is totally unacceptable.”
