A 31-year-old man appeared in Nenagh District Court on Monday afternoon, September 15, in relation to an assault that occurred in Tipperary Town on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Sean Harding of 27 Marian Terrace, Tipperary Town was brought before Judge Fiona Brennan at Nenagh District Court.
His arrest was made as part of the investigation into the assault on retired bus driver Teddy Murnane (80s).
Gardaí issued a statement to say that Mr Murnane passed in University Hospital Limerick on Monday morning, September 15.
Det Garda Conor Gleeson, of Cashel Garda station, gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
The defendant has been charged with three counts of burglary as well as one count of assault causing harm.
Two of the burglary charges as well as the assault charge are alleged to have occurred at the victim’s home on St Michael’s Avenue in Tipperary Town.

The court heard that the defendant has said “no” to all charges against him.
There was no application for bail and Harding will be remanded in custody before appearing via video link at Thurles District Court on September 17.
An application for legal aid was also granted by the court in Nenagh on Monday afternoon.
