“We’ll Bring The Friends Around - The Music and Writing of Lory Kenny” was a very special occasion.

The musical event in the Abymill Theatre in  Fethard on Friday the 12th of September was a response to the loss of Lory Kenny by his friends and family, shortly after his death.

While experiencing their great loss the family felt the need to show and share his life’s passions - his love of music and writing.
“We were delighted and grateful to have his friends to offer to do this with us. We could not have managed otherwise,” said Lory’s sister Jane.

With a host of people to thank, the family in particular want to acknowledge the help and work of Eoin Hally and Dirk Baumann (DBL Lighting and Sound Dungarvan) who really went above and beyond to ensure a special commemoration of Lory.

Thanks to the Abymill Theatre Board, McCarthy’s of Fethard, all of the musicians, family members and many friends who contributed to and attended the concert, MC Ciarán O’Shea, Pill Ryan for the poster design, and everyone who donated to Cuan Mhuire, Athy.

Lory will forever be remembered as a dear friend, brother and son who possessed a rare gift with words and music. With one turn of phrase he could floor a room in laughter, and with one melody he could break your heart. His warmth, wit and musical brilliance were unmatched. As time begins to move forward without his presence, his music will forever bring the friends around.
