Tipperary fitness influencer and mental health advocate Aidan Loughnane took to Instagram last week to open up about the loss of his brother and the effects it had on him.

Aidan, who runs the Instagram account ‘runningwithaidan’ posted a video detailing the impact his brother had on his life, and his difficulties with coming to terms with his passing.

Aidan said that he had never spoken publicly about his brother Danny’s passing before, and that he wished to do so to honour his memory, stating that he was someone who enjoyed life, and that he wanted to set the record straight about his death, saying that he never left this life willingly, contrary to rumours which had spread.

In his post, Aidan said: “This is the first time I’ve spoken about how my brother Danny died. He was just 25 full of energy, always smiling, always dragging me out of bed when I didn’t want to face the day.

“He lived life at full tilt… and sadly, that thrill caught up with him. I’m not ashamed to tell his story, because it’s not something to hide from ,it’s something to learn from. I miss him every day.”
