Vintage show in Tipperary raises €7,000 for day service centre for adults with disabilities

Vintage show in Tipperary raises €7,000 for day service centre for adults with disabilities

Martin Lenehan, President of the Irish Rovers Vintage Club presented a cheque for €7,000 to Moorehaven CEO Michael Murnane and Damian O’Brien, representing the Moorehaven Centre service users.

At a recent event at the Moorehaven Centre in Tipperary Town, the proceeds of the Limerick Junction Vintage Show were presented to the Moorehaven Centre.

Martin Lenehan, President of the Irish Rovers Vintage Club presented a cheque for €7,000 to Moorehaven CEO Michael Murnane and Damian O’Brien, representing the Moorehaven Centre service users.

Seamus O’Grady, on behalf of the Vintage Club, said “It was a great pleasure to be involved in this great event, especially in aid of the Moorehaven Centre.

"We were a bit unlucky with the weather and that probably kept some people away. Still, it was a great show and very well attended.

"We promise to do it bigger and better next year. It will be going ahead at Tipperary Racecourse on Sunday June 21, with a tractor run on the previous evening.

"We want to make this a majorannual event and we want to raise even more money for this very worthy cause”.

Michael Murnane, CEO of the Moorehaven Centre expressed his thanks to all who were involved in organising and running the Vintage Show and said that the proceeds will be put to good use.

The proceeds of the show will be devoted to installing computer equipment that will be available to service users at the Centre.

Computer Solutions in Tipperary Town were also present and will be responsible for the installation of the computer equipment.

St Ailbie’s Credit Union, supporters of the show, were also there, represented by John O’Connor. A number of the volunteers and members of the Irish Rovers Vintage Club were also present at the event.
