Soccer club in Tipperary prepares to celebrate milestone anniversary

1975 saw the formation of Old Bridge FC in Clonmel.
In a statement, the club says "It has been a wonderful story with lots of success, heartbreak, resilience and memories, which will remain for ever.
"We have been blessed with some wonderful players, great committee members and the extraordinary support of the Old Bridge community and the people of Clonmel.
"On Saturday October 11 we are coming together to celebrate this special anniversary.
"We will be having a football game involving past and present players in Green Lane at 2pm and later that evening a barbecue will be held in The Emigrants Rest.
"We are hoping to see a lot of ex-players, committee members and supporters from the last fifty years join us on the night and regale us with stories and memories from the past. We are really looking forward to what should be a great day and if anybody has old photographs, newspaper clippings or any type of paraphernalia we would love to borrow it and display it on the night.
"Please come along and enjoy the events; it is only going to happen once".
