The Inch Field in Cahir has proudly won a Green Flag award for the past three years, and the results for this year are due mid-November.

This European competition recognizes exceptional green spaces, and to keep up the momentum, the Cahir Tidy Towns group has secured a special projects grant.

Independent County Councillor Andy Moloney shared the news saying: "This year’s grant has allowed us to light up the Piste (boules area) at the Inch, enabling evening games, as well as adding some vibrant lighting to the Giant and St. Declan’s Grove to complete the area."

The Tidy Towns group says it is "thrilled and grateful" to Tipperary County Council for their support, which will further enhance the town and attract more visitors.

"These grants, funded through local contributions, are a great way to support projects that have a positive economic impact on Cahir," the group continued.

The new lighting is low voltage LED, on a timer to switch off at 11pm.
