Tipperary will have a unique playoff match this weekend to determine representatives in Munster

Tipperary GAA will find their representatives for the upcoming Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship in a unique way this year, following the results of recent weeks.

South champions Clonmel Óg and West champions Rockwell Rovers will have to face off to determine who Tipperary's representative will be at the provincial level in 2025.

Having lost out to Nenagh Éire Óg and Moycarkey Borris in the recent FBD Insurance Junior A Hurling quarter-finals, the two clubs were the only first teams left in the competition. Under provincial rules, only a club's first team can go forward to compete in the Munster championship.

As it is, four second teams are down to play the semi-finals over the coming weeks, but in order to find a representative, the Tipperary County Board has organised a playoff fixture.

This coming Saturday, Clonmel Óg and Rockwell Rovers will face off in a Munster Qualifier Playoff in Fethard at 2pm.

In the Junior A championship semi-finals, Kiladangan will face Moycarkey Borris in Moneygall on Saturday, while the other semi between Nenagh Éire Óg and Holycross Ballycahill will be played the following Saturday, October 18th in Borris-Ileigh.
