A night of iconic hits and high spirits brings Chicago cool to Tipperary

Blues, brass and big energy as The Blooze Brothers return to Nenagh Arts Centre stage

A night of iconic hits and high spirits brings Chicago cool to Tipperary

Forty-five years on from the release of The Blues Brothers film, the rhythm and mischief of Jake and Elwood are rolling back into town. Nenagh Arts Centre will play host to The Ultimate Blues Brothers Tribute Show on Saturday, October 18 at 8pm, a night that promises more soul, swing and swagger than a Chicago police chase.

Fans can expect an 11-piece ensemble complete with a full brass section, delivering the hits that made the Blues Brothers household names, from Soul Man to Everybody Needs Somebody. The performers, dressed to impress and brimming with energy, aim to have audiences dancing in the aisles before the night is out.

The Blooze Brothers, as the tribute act is known, were first formed in the summer of 1995 and spent a decade touring packed venues and corporate events across Ireland. Like all good stories, this one comes with a reunion: several original members decided during lockdown to “get the band back together” and the magic returned.

Now featuring Jake and Elwood Blooze, alongside the irrepressible Soul Sisters and a horn section sharp enough to cut through steel, the group has re-established itself as a fixture on the Irish live circuit. They’ve sold out major venues nationwide and even taken their show on the road across Europe, spreading the gospel of rhythm and blues one gig at a time.

Audiences can expect the full soundtrack experience, plus a few surprises.

Tickets for The Ultimate Blues Brothers Tribute Show are priced at €20 and are available now at nenagharts.com or by contacting the Nenagh Arts Centre Box Office at 067 34400 / reception@nenagharts.com
