The Old Bridge in Carrick-on-Suir
Tipperary County Council is taking action to repair structural damage caused to Carrick-on-Suir’s historic Old Bridge as a result of it being struck by vehicles.
Cllr David Dunne sought an update on the repair of the bridge at Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District’s monthly meeting and was assured by District Engineer Michael Scully that the repair of the bridge was on the Council’s agenda.
He said a structural engineer has drawn up a list of remedial works to repair the damage and noted that the Council has to be careful with the repair works as its such an old bridge.
Mr Scully said the Council was trying to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
