Tipperary man Barry Ryan has been appointed as the manager of Cork City FC Women.
The Thurles native assumed the role of manager of the Irish Premier Division side last Wednesday evening.

Barry is a teacher in Presentation Secondary School in Thurles, and is known for his soccer analysis on TippFM on Monday nights.

The Ryan family have a major background in sport, with Barry's father famously playing League of Ireland football, scoring a goal past Peter Shilton when Thurles Town faced Stoke City in the Greyhound Stadium in 1977.
