HILARIOUS: Tipperary man goes viral after interrupting TV broadcast at Thurles Racecourse!

A racegoer stole the spotlight at Thurles on Thursday afternoon after gate-crashing a live broadcast with Fran Berry and Gary O’Brien. As the Racing TV presenters were wrapping up their coverage, a man later identified as Pat appeared behind them, cheerfully waving at the camera.

His antics quickly caught the attention of Berry, the former Group One-winning jockey who turned to broadcasting following his retirement in 2019.

Pat, who explained he was at the Tipperary track with friends, admitted he didn’t recognise Berry and asked with a grin, “Which one are you?”

Pat went on to reveal he had backed the final winner of the day, Grann’s Boy (7-4 favourite) in the thurlesraces Handicap. O’Brien, clearly amused, welcomed him into the chat and joked that Berry might have a few pointers for Dundalk’s meeting on Friday.

After exchanging a few light-hearted remarks, Pat waved goodbye and left the camera shot, but not before the clip made its mark online. Racing TV later shared the video on social media with the caption, “When you make a new friend @Franmberry @thurlesraces.”

The moment proved a hit with viewers, with many praising Berry and O’Brien’s good humour. One fan posted, “National Hunt racing highlight of the year already, two gentlemen not taking life too seriously. Fair play, lads.” Another added, “That is gold! One of the all-time great racing interviews.”
