The Tipperary GAA community is in mourning following the sad news of the death of senior football manager Philly Ryan, one of the county’s most respected and admired figures.
Ryan, from Clonmel, had a lifelong association with both Clonmel Commercials and Tipperary GAA. He passed away suddeny around lunchtime on Saturday afternoon, it is understood.

Ryan was appointed Tipperary senior football manager earlier this year and was widely regarded as one of the county’s most dedicated GAA figures and was set to be a key part of the rebuilding of fortunes of the Tipperary team in the coming years.
