Gardaí in Tipperary intercepted two motorists during patrols around Clonmel on Thursday, October 16 as part of ongoing road safety operations.
Tipperary Roads Policing Unit stopped a disqualified driver who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug and drink driving after failing a roadside test and testing positive for cannabis and amphetamines.

Gardaí described the individual as a "significant risk to other road users".
The matter is now before the courts.

A short time earlier, another motorist was detected by Garda Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology outside Clonmel for having no insurance.
Further checks revealed that the driver had never held a licence. That vehicle was seized, and the matter is also before the courts.
