It’s a hugely exciting week ahead for Carrick Swan GAA Club as its Premier Intermediate hurlers prepare to play Upperchurch in the county final this Sunday, October 26 in Semple Stadium in Thurles.
The club wishes the best of luck to all the team and mentors.
And it congratulates the Junior A footballers, who achieved a fine win over Clonakenny with a final score of 1-16 to 0-12. This victory sees them progress to the county final.
The Club wishes its Junior B hurlers good luck against Knockshegowna in county quarter-final in The Ragg at 2.30pm this Saturday, October 25.
Meanwhile, the Junior B camogie team played Roscrea in their county quarter-final on Sunday last. Unfortunately, the Swan team were beaten, bringing their season to a close. The Club says hard luck to all involved and well down on their efforts throughout the year.
The 12 Days of Christmas Draw tickets are now available from any committee member or the usual ticket sellers. Tickets can also be purchased online via the link on the Club's social media pages. There’s €20,000 in prize money to be won through the draw.
The club presented the €17,000 proceeds from its Breast Cancer Awareness coffee morning fundraiser to Breast Cancer Ireland last Saturday.
A representative from Breast Cancer Ireland gave an informative and engaging talk on health and awareness after the cheque presentation. The Club thanks everyone who supported and helped organise this great event.
Finally, the Swan Club extends deepest condolences to the Foran family, Treacy Park; the Power family, Faugheen and England on the deaths of their loved ones and the Ryan family of Clonmel on the sudden death of Philly Ryan.
