Roscrea soccer star Brody Lee has been selected to represent his country and play for Ireland in the Under 17 World Cup in Qatar.

An event to mark the achievement has been organised by Brody Lee's alma-mater football club in Roscrea for this Sunday.

Son of Tipperary County Councillor Shane Lee, Brody's hometown is rejoicing this week after the proud Roscrea player's rising star has gone to new heights this week.

Brody's stellar career started in his home Roscrea club, Killavilla United AFC, who expressed their delight seeing Brody go "from Villa Park to the World Cup."

"We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud that former Killavilla United star Brody Lee has been selected to represent Ireland at the upcoming U/17 World Cup in Qatar", the club said.

"Brody’s football journey began right here at Villa Park under the guidance of Shane Ryan. From his earliest days in the club, Brody showed remarkable commitment, drive, and passion for the game — qualities that continue to shine today.

"This achievement is a testament to Brody’s hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of his family who have stood by him every step of the way. The entire town of Roscrea is bursting with pride as one of our own prepares to represent Ireland on the world stage.

"To mark this incredible milestone, a Night of Celebration will take place this Sunday evening at 7pm in the Auburn Lounge, where everyone is warmly invited to come along and celebrate with Brody and his family.

"From Villa Park to the World Cup — Brody, you’ve made Killavilla United and Roscrea so proud", the club said.
