“This is a tremendous moment for our community,” said Fine Gael councillor Declan Burgess. “The Gold Medal reflects not only the work of the Tidy Towns committee but the collective effort and pride of Cashel’s residents.”

The accolade rewards years of meticulous volunteer work, from revitalising parks and streetscapes to promoting recycling and environmental awareness. Local businesses and residents have welcomed the recognition, noting that it enhances both the town’s appearance and its appeal to visitors.

Beyond the medal itself, the award highlights Cashel’s capacity for coordinated civic action, demonstrating how community spirit can transform public spaces and elevate local standards. Plans are already underway to maintain and build on this achievement, ensuring that Cashel remains a model of environmental care and civic pride.
