As first reported by the Nenagh Guardian, Niall Fitzgerald was ratified at a meeting of the county’s football committee last night. The Moyle Rovers man takes over the position left vacant following the sudden passing of Philly Ryan last month.
Fitzgerald, who previously managed the Tipperary U20 footballers for three seasons, stepped down from that role at the end of this year’s inter-county campaign.
His appointment will be formally confirmed at the county board meeting in November.
