Tipperary hurling hero Alan Tynan got a resounding reception when he visited Sacred Heart Roscrea with the Liam MacCarthy cup.
He was welcomed with a rousing rendition of Slievenamon before he answered questions from the children.

Among the insights he shared were the benefits of box breathing for dealing with nerves before a match, school friends are friends for life, midfielders are the funny men on the Tipperary team, free takers – even the brilliant ones can be for the birds, and playing sport is good for you.
Alan had a special word for staff members Annette and Jennifer as he fondly remembered their Mam - super supporter Sadie, a really lovely touch.

Alan was generous with his time, and was a wonderful ambassador for Tipperary hurling, as he engaged easily with everyone in the school community.
