Carrick-on-Suir Town Hall where the meeting of Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District took place
Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District will have a discretionary fund of €163,707 to spend on infrastructure upgrades, community groups, amenities, local festivals and other initiatives next year.
Councillors were informed of the provisional General Municipal Allocation (GMA) fund for the district at Carrick MD’s latest monthly meeting and it will be the same amount as last year.
Carrick-on-Suir Cllr Kieran Bourke noted that extra revenue arising from the Local Property Tax increase voted in by Tipperary county councillors went to the GMA. He had thought this would be reflected in an increase in the GMA fund for the district.
Sarah O’Callaghan of Tipperary County Council's Finance Section explained the 15% Local Property Tax increase was approved last year for three years and the increase in funding was applied to the GMA last year.
