Launch night for Miami Showband massacre survivor's book planned in his Tipperary hometown

A launch night for Miami Showband massacre survivor Stephen Travers’ new memoir that is shortlisted for an Irish Book award, is planned in his hometown of Carrick-on-Suir next week.

The local launch of The Bass Player – Surviving The Miami Showband Massacre takes place in the Carraig Hotel on Tuesday, November 25 at 7pm.

The event will be hosted by Carrick-on-Suir writer Margaret O’Brien and will feature special guest speakers and friends Stephen grew up with and played music with around Carrick-on-Suir.

The book is a finalist for the Dubray Biography of the Year Award in the An Post Irish Book Awards. Signed copies will be available at the launch. Admission is free and all are welcome.
