The announcement forms part of a province-wide investment package designed to support capital works in local clubs. In total, 84 development projects have been approved across Munster, with clubs collectively recording €10.5 million in expenditure on facility upgrades.
Of the overall €1,456,547 grant budget, €1.02 million is provided by Central Council and €436,547 by the Munster Council. Funding covers key areas such as:
• Land purchase
• Dressing room and gym upgrades
• Handball court refurbishments
• Pitch development, floodlighting and hurling wall construction
Munster GAA Chairman Tim Murphy said the strong level of investment reflects the ambition of clubs across the province.
“I am delighted to announce the awarding of just under €1.5 million in grants supporting 84 development projects throughout Munster,” he said. “Clubs have invested over €10.5 million in upgrading their facilities. This level of expenditure is testament to the strength of the GAA in the province and reflects the impressive vision of our clubs to continually improve facilities for players and supporters alike.”
He added that the contribution of supporters remains central to the scheme.
“The grants provided would not be possible without the great support we get from the many thousands of people who attend our games each year. We are delighted to be able to redistribute income from games back to the clubs.”
Tipperary’s allocation of €296,985 is one of the highest county totals after Cork and reflects steady investment in club infrastructure across the county.
The funding will support ongoing and planned upgrades in Tipp clubs, including facility improvements, pitch development and other capital works.
