PICTURES: Tipperary grandmother overjoyed to be reunited with peacekeeper grandson

There was pride, tears of joy and singing as Irish peacekeepers were embraced by their families after six months on a UN mission to southern Lebanon.

More than 300 Irish troops have spent the last six months serving with the UN in southern Lebanon during a tense period for the Middle East.

Among them were Tipperary man Jack Renehan, who returned home this week after a six-month deployment to south Lebanon as part of the United Nations Interim Force Lebanon (Unifil).

A photographer captured the happy moment Jack's grandmother, Chrissie Renehan who hails from Cappawhite, reacted to her grandson's arrival in Dublin Airport.
