The proposed development at Mountain View Drive includes a mix of housing types. It consists of six one-bedroom apartments, two two-bedroom bungalows, 11 two-bedroom houses, 19 three-bedroom houses, six four-bedroom homes, and a single five-bedroom dwelling.
As part of the scheme, an existing public open space within the estate will be preserved. Council planners propose linking this space to additional linear parks, creating a continuous greenway for pedestrians and cyclists from Mountain View Drive and Millennium Place to a new playing pitch that will form part of the development.
The new social homes follow on from a 2021 planning approval for 75 homes on a neighbouring site. That permission allowed Top Drawer Developments to construct 45 two-storey houses and 30 terraced townhouses.
Parking provisions for the council development include 101 spaces, with 31 set aside for visitors.
