Tipperary Yearbook 2025

What a memorable year it has been for the Premier County, a year crowned of course by our Tipperary senior hurlers lifting the Liam MacCarthy Cup and sparking a wave of joy and pride that swept through every parish in the county.

As always, the Tipperary Yearbook strives to reflect the spirit of Tipperary at its very best.

It is an exceptional publication, filled with original content produced to the highest standard by the dedicated teams at The Nationalist and the Tipperary Star, with the support of Iconic Media Group’s production hub in Portlaoise.

Within the pages, we revisit many of the moments that shaped 2025 for Tipperary.

Among them is the ongoing case of Seán Meehan.

His story, explored on pages 26 and 27, brought national attention to issues of planning, fairness, and the challenges faced by people trying to build a life in their own community as he battles to save his log cabin, his home.

On page 31, we share a poignant and powerful interview with Dan Quirke, father of the late Dillon Quirke, as he reflects on loss, legacy, and the life-saving mission at the heart of The Dillon Quirke Foundation.

This year also saw the retirement of one of Ireland’s most remarkable sporting figures, Rachael Blackmore, whose extraordinary career and impact we honour on pages 42 and 43.

We highlight the fierce determination of young Ardfinnan hero Cara Darmody, whose Dáil protest, revisited on page 45, brought renewed urgency to the national conversation around disability rights and assessment delays.

Of course, we relive the magic of that unforgettable All-Ireland Final on pages 58 and 59, followed by the richly deserved celebrations of our All-Star winners on pages 88 and 89.

Their achievements are a testament to the brilliance and dedication of this year’s outstanding Tipperary panel.

There is so much more within the pages.

We look back at a range of people who inspired us throughout 2025, including Clonboo woodturner Martin Ryan, our local power couple Sharlene Mawdsley and Michael Breen, Cashel’s recently retired Raymond Davern, and even our very own Eamon O’Keefe, whose appearance in the first season of the Irish edition of The Traitors made him a household name.

As we bring this annual to a close, we also look ahead to 2026, to the hopes, stories, and possibilities that lie ahead, and to another year in which the people of Tipperary will no doubt continue to inspire through their remarkable spirit, resilience and pride of place.

Thank you for your continued support, and I hope you enjoy a very special edition of the Tipperary Yearbook.
