The event, organised by a local recreational running and walking group, has already raised more than €2,600 through its GoFundMe page, Chasing Pavements Christmas Santa Run.
The Santa Run and Walk will begin at 8pm from the Market Yard, with participants encouraged to dress in festive attire to add to the seasonal spirit.
The event caters to a variety of abilities, offering a 5k running group, a 4.5k running group, a 3k running group, and a 2k walking group, all taking in the streets of Tipperary Town.
The initiative is led by Danny Whyte, who emphasises inclusivity and community participation. The group was first established in 2024 to provide a structured way for locals to get active, regardless of fitness level.
Each event is carefully organised with designated leaders and sweepers to ensure participants are safe and supported throughout their chosen route.
The Santa Run and Walk is not just a chance to exercise but also a way to give back to the community during the festive season.
Organisers hope the event will bring together residents, encourage healthy activity, and raise awareness for Meals on Wheels, a service providing essential support to older and vulnerable members of the community.
