Excitement is building in Cashel as a proposal for a brand-new Padel Tennis facility has landed on Tipperary County Council's desk.
Padel Tennis is a mix of tennis and squash, where players use paddles to hit a ball over a net inside a court with glass walls. The small 20-by-10-meter court makes the game fast and creative because the ball can bounce off the walls. The glass walls make padel different from regular tennis courts.

The planned facility would use two spaces in the new Cashel Business Park, just off the old Dublin-Cork road near Windmill Cashel. Together, these spaces will total 1,215.5 square meters of floor space, making it one of the largest spaces in the Business Park.
Padel Rock Limited submitted the application, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity. The planning application reference is 2561329. Submissions are accepted until January 30, and the Planning Office will issue a decision by February 20, 2026.
Tipperary County Council recently granted permission for changes at the Fort Aengus Tennis Club near Rosegreen to add Padel Tennis courts.
