Two new fundraising efforts have been launched in Tipperary to support repair works at churches in Cashel and Rosegreen, as the parish seeks to safeguard buildings that play a central role in local life.

Organisers say the churches are vital community assets that must be protected for future generations.

In Cashel, a substantial reroofing project is progressing to secure the church, which dates back to 1795.

The first initiative is the inaugural Parish Draw, which is now under way. Tickets are available from the parish office in Cashel, with prizes on offer ranging from a Husqvarna auto mower to a selection of valuable vouchers.

A second fundraiser will take place at Halla an Féile on Sunday, February 1st. A St Brigid’s Day Tea Party is planned for 2pm on the Sunday of the February bank holiday weekend.

Tables of ten are being invited to participate, with each table expected to contribute €200 towards the renovation works.

Organisers are encouraging people to book tables in advance and to help spread the word about both fundraising initiatives.
