The death has occurred of Michael English, Ardvarna, Oughterard, Co Galway, formerly of Aherlow, Co Tipperary.
Michael passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 23, 2026.
He is predeceased by his parents James and Hannah, brother Jimmy and sister Eileen.
Michael will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, his sons Seamus and Michael and daughter Siobhan, daughters-in-law Brenda and Paula, son-in-law Declan, all his beloved grandchildren Erin, Kate, Emmett, Libby, Grace, Hannah, Isabel, Ben and Lucy, his sister Mary and brother John, nieces, nephews, extended family neighbours and wide circle of friends.
May he rest in peace.
He will lay in repose at his home Ardvarna, Oughterard, (H91CR2A) on Thursday, February 26, from 4pm until 7pm.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Michael at 11am on arrival at the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Oughterard on Friday, February 27.
Burial will take place afterwards in Kilcummin Cemetery, Oughterard.
The family has asked for family flowers only.

Tributes have been paid to Michael online following his passing, with one person saying: “Dear Kathy and family I was so sorry to hear of the death of your dear Michael, I know you will be heartbroken. Michael was larger than life, funny kind and was always happy to help. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
Another said: “Sincere sympathy to Kathleen, Seamus, Michael & Siobhán and the extended English family on the sad passing of Michael. He was always a lovely man to meet and a wonderful singer. May all the good memories bring you comfort through this difficult time. May he rest in peace.”
