Fresh updates have emerged about what lies ahead for the Mr Price store in Tipperary Town.

Over the past few years, a steady stream of requests and appeals has flowed to An Coimisiún Pleanála concerning the Tipperary Town Retail Park site.

Tipperary County Council had earlier ruled that the Limerick Road retail park is reserved for light industrial businesses, making it off-limits for Mr Price.

CORAJIO, trading as Mr Price, has submitted a new application to Tipperary County Council. The company is seeking permission to retain the combination of units 1 and 2, merge them with unit 3 to create a single unit, and combine units 7 and 8.

In their proposal, Mr Price highlights that their online shop specialises in comparison and bulky goods. The plan is to expand the store while restricting sales at this location to just those items. Shoppers will not find confectionery, food, or everyday cleaning products on the shelves.

A verdict on the application is expected by April 19, keeping the community waiting in anticipation.
