During the recent St Patrick's Day Parade held in Tipperary Town, those who attended got to learn about a surprising link between Germany and the town in the Premiere county.
Among the special guests in attendance of the parade were Ernest Schnaitmann and Rolf Weller, former members of the municipal council of Weinstadt, Germany, who were invited to Tipperary Town to view this year’s parade.
For many years, Weinstadt and Tipperary enjoyed a formalised long-term partnership between the two towns.

This relationship developed following their mutual twinning with Parthenay in France, and helped foster collaboration in education, economic development and tourism, while promoting peace, friendship and cultural exchange.
The two had a wonderful time visiting their Irish connection as the town gave them a wonderful welcome on the day.
