Coming off a string of sold-out performances, including a highly acclaimed show at the Galway International Arts Festival, Coughlan brings her raw, soulful voice and fearless honesty to Thurles.

With a career spanning over four decades, she continues to captivate audiences with her unique blend of "whisky-blurred, smoke-seared" notes and the sardonic wit reminiscent of icons like Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf.

This performance follows the success of her latest album, Repeat Rewind (2024), which was named Album of the Year by RTÉ’s John Creedon and ranked among the Top 5 Jazz Albums of the Year by The Irish Times. Fans can expect an evening that dissects "adult disappointments" with a voice that remains, at 69, "rich, authentic, and very much her own".

Mary Coughlan is one of Ireland's most enduring and uncompromising artists.

Since her 1985 debut Tired and Emotional, she has released 16 acclaimed albums, becoming a testament to resilience and the power of redemption.

Her music remains a "wholly personal yet utterly universal" exploration of the human heart.

The show takes place on Saturday, April 18, at 8pm.

Tickets for the show cost €34.
