The draws for the FBD Insurance County Hurling and Football Championships were made last night with some exciting foursomes drawn from the hat in Lar Na Pairce.
Despite the action not getting underway until August, there was great anticipation in the clubs around the county who can now prepare in earnest for the games in the summer.

In the senior football championship, the eye-catching draw is in Group 3 with three contenders in Loughmore Castleiney, Upperchurch Drombane, and Moyle Rovers all locking horns.
Elsewhere, in the senior hurling championship, Group 3 is also loaded with reigning champions Loughmore Castleiney joined by Moycarkey Borris, Borris-Ileigh, and Clonoulty Rossmore with all having aspirations to go the distance this year.
