The late Jackie McGrath, Cnoc Aoibheann, Clerihan, who passed away recently
A community activist who passed away suddenly was fondly remembered at a meeting of Clonmel Borough District.
Jackie McGrath from Cnoc Aoibheann, Clerihan, died following a tragic accident.
Cllr John FitzGerald told the meeting that she had lost her life doing good work.
She was a neighbour of his and the whole village of Clerihan and district was shocked and heartbroken by her death. She is survived by a relatively young family, he said.
Cllr Siobhán Ambrose recalled that only two weeks previously Jackie had been the instigator of a breakfast fundraiser for a young boy from Clerihan.

She was originally from Clonmel and had immersed herself in everything happening in the nearby village of Clerihan when she moved there, including the Christmas events, tractor runs, the bingo, children’s birthday parties and local fundraisers.
She was described as “a livewire” by Cllr Ambrose and was involved in almost every event held in the community hall in Clerihan.
Jackie McGrath (nee Daniels) was pre-deceased by her father Michael and son Christy. Beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband Richard, children Rachel, Megan (and their dad Ger), Sam, Richard and Abbie, mother Bridget, parents-in-law Richie and Alice, sister Tracy, grandchildren Leah-Rose, Isabelle and Sophia, nephews, niece, extended family and friends.
