The initiative highlights farmers who are increasing pasture growth and improving utilisation on their farms, contributing to more sustainable livestock production systems.

A key part of the judging process is the use of PastureBase Ireland, which helps dairy, beef, and sheep farmers monitor and manage grass production effectively.

The Pasture Progress Awards are supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and include an overall prize fund of €40,000.
