Not a natural position for the Cashel man, he struggled to keep tabs on Fergal Whitely throughout the game, with the corner forward scoring 1-1. Like McGrath, Connolly is more of a ball playing defender in the half back line and would be better suited in that kind of role. Tough day out, but early days yet for the youngster.
