Thurles Rugby: Seconds team record good friendly win over Nenagh Ormond

No First Team game last weekend at Thurles RFC but there was plenty of rugby to be played for the Women, The Seconds , the U18 Boys and Girls and the U16 Girls.

Shay Scanlon’s Seconds kicked off the weekend under lights on Friday evening with a hard fought victory over Senior Club opposition, Nenagh at Loughtagalla. FT score Thurles 23 Nenagh Ormond 20.

Saturday morning saw both the U16 and U18 Girls hit the Road to Ballincollig, along with their teammates from Carrick on Suir. In challenging conditions the girls played extremely well, with the hard work put in at training, paying off and both sides came away with a win.

Final scores, Ballincollig U16 Girls 10 Thurles Carrick U16 Girls 12, and Ballincollig U18 Girls 19, Thurles Carrick 46. We’ll done girls and coaches.

The J1s return to Munster Junior League action next weekend away to Crosshaven when some valuable league points are on offer
