On Thursday November 24, the Central Technical Institute (CTI) under 16 basketball team travelled to the SETU Sports Centre in Waterford for the Regional Final against near neighbours Clonmel High School.

Having previously come out on top in their match in the league section of the competition in October, the team were anxious to repeat that performance to bring the title back to CTI.

After a tight first half, CTI led by 19 points to 18. However, a dominant performance in the second half, saw CTI emerge victorious on a scoreline of 40 points to 28.

The team have now qualified for the All-Ireland series which will be held after Christmas.

Great credit is due to the team and their coaches for winning the Under 16 regional title this year having won the 2nd year title past year with the same core group of players.

Comhghairdeas libh uilig agus go n-éirí an t-ádh libh sa chéad bhabhta eile.
