Ballymacarbry’s David Guetta did a right job at the Santa Christmas Party

Ballymacarbry’s David Guetta did a right job at the Santa Christmas Party

Congratulations to Katie Corbett, Ballybrien, Ballymacarbry, who graduated with First Class Honours in her Masters of Education.

SANTA FUN IN THE CENTRE
Last Sunday (December 18) our local families had a wonderful afternoon in the Centre and left, full of Christmas spirit heading into the home straight for the big day.

The day was a huge success thanks to the efforts of Mairead, Jolene and Aileen who did a fantastic job organising this event. We’d also like to thank the wonderful Nire choir that performed with local children, ably led by Mary Wall and Ann Kelly.

Ballymacarbry’s David Guetta, Cody Peters did a super job as DJ as usual. Finally, our biggest thanks goes to Santa Claus himself who travelled all the way from the North Pole to meet our local children. He did a wonderful job and we’ll hopefully see him in the Centre again this time next year.

DEFIBRILLATOR RAFFLE
Raffle to raise funds for our Defibrillator Cabinet.
During our Santa event, the centre ran a raffle to raise funds for a cabinet to hold our public defibrillator in a more visible location at the front of the building.
At present the Community Centre defibrillator is located in our ‘boiler room’ at the right hand side of the building. While it is always accessible to the public, it is not as visible as we would like. Thanks to the funds raised by this Christmas raffle, we will now purchase the specialized cabinet required to hold and display the defibrillator for the local community.
We hope it will never be required, but if it is, people will hopefully be more aware of its location in the village.
Sincere thanks to everyone who supported the raffle on the day and for contributing to this great cause.

CHRISTMAS AT THE CENTRE
The Centre will be quiet over the Christmas as people take a well-earned break. In saying this the facilities will be available at all times to anyone who wishes to make a booking. Contact the centre mobile 086 032 8467 as usual.

SEASON’S GREETINGS
Finally we’d like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas.
Thank you all for the great support over 2022 and we look forward to another great year in 2023.
