Thurles-Templemore councillors welcomed the inclusion of Templemore Town Park in a recent Irish Times article on Christmas walks.

In the article titled Walking in a Winter Wonderland, published on December 17, Templemore Town Park was described as buggy and wheelchair friendly.

The article said: “The 1.5km circuit won’t take you very long to complete, but it is so atmospheric you may be tempted to do it twice.”

Cllr Noel Coonan also raised anti-social behaviour at the park.

He asked if locking the park  at certain times was an option.

District Administrator Sharon Scully replied that they would ask the gardaí  to increase their patrols in the area.
